Hoʻoulu meaning “growth” or “to cause growth” [Pukui, 1986] is both an outlook and understanding of how design should sit within a community, space, and environment. Hoʻoulu Designs is a creative space for understanding how design can perpetuate and support lāhui. As a small business, we remain in search of new methods, processes, ideas, and forms that will uplift and support our community and ʻāina.
